We are a small group of initiative takers from the Netherlands that want to raise awareness about the suffering of Palestinians by telling the story of Hind Rajab and her tragic death in January 2024 in Gaza. We have remade a car with 335 bullet holes as a powerful symbol.
We have toured through the Netherlands to demonstrate this piece of art to the public. So far we have been to Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Maastricht, Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht - and even in Brussels.
We are grateful for the help and the friends we have made so far. However, doing this takes time, energie and funds. We need your help.
The funds that we raise will go to:
1. paying for train tickets
2. Logistical expenses - arranging a tow for the car
3. Permits to stand in inner cities - for some inner city areas permits are needed, but not all
4. Flyers - Using flyers and speaking to people on the group, we can reach 1000+ people every weekend
5. Posters and Roll up banners.
The amount to raise should set up us for about 5 trips. However, if we raise another 1000 we can set up a non-profit.
In the heart of Gaza's chaos, on January 29, 2024, a tragedy unfolded that captured the world's grief: the story of six-year-old Hind Rajab. Trapped in her family's red Hyundai Accent amid Israeli shelling in Gaza City, Hind desperately called Palestinian Red Crescent rescuers. Her tiny voice, trembling yet brave, pleaded, "I am so scared. Please come get me." For hours, she stayed on the line, singing nursery rhymes to calm her cousins while her mother and relatives lay wounded or silent around her. Ambulance teams from the Red Crescent and Palestinian Civil Defense arrived, but their vehicles were struck by tank fire. Hind and her family were killed, their car riddled with bullets. This heartbreaking incident, verified by audio recordings and investigations, symbolized the unimaginable toll on Palestinian children in the ongoing conflict—over 14,000 minors lost since October 2023, according to UN reports.
To honor Hind's memory and amplify voices silenced by war, we—a group of activists committed to Palestinian rights—have built a symbolic replica of her red car. Adorned with murals of Hind's face, peace doves, and messages like "End the Genocide" and "Children Are Not Targets," it serves as a mobile monument to her courage and the countless innocents affected. Since May 2024, we've toured the Netherlands every weekend, parking in city squares from Amsterdam to Rotterdam, Utrecht to The Hague. We share Hind's audio, survivor testimonies, and facts on Gaza's humanitarian crisis, sparking dialogues on justice, ceasefire, and child protection.
The impact has been profound. Thousands from all races, ethnicities, and backgrounds—Dutch locals, immigrants, students, families—have paused, listened, and engaged. We've collected signatures for petitions, raised funds for Gaza aid, and fostered solidarity across divides. Social media amplifies our reach, with videos garnering hundreds of thousands of views. Yet, sustaining this grassroots effort demands resources: fuel, maintenance for our custom car, printing materials, and travel costs amid rising inflation.
We need your support to keep Hind's light burning. By donating, every euro fuels awareness, challenges silence, and honors a child's plea for safety. Join us.
