In October 2026, Alan Nicholls serving Firefighter and ex Royal Engineer, Lloyd Frosdick serving Firefighter and ex Royal Marine and Scott Frosdick ex Royal Marine will undertake a demanding climb in the Himalayas, to the Mera Peak, 6,476m- 21,247ft, one of Nepal's most iconic trekking peaks.

This multi-week expedition involves high-altitude trekking, technical climbing elements, and physical endurance in extreme conditions, pushing personal limits to raise awareness and donations. The full journey is a 16- 20 day expedition involving remote trekking, glacier climbing, high altitude acclimatation and demanding summit push. It requires strong physical and mental strength, teamwork and respect for the fragile Himalayan environment.

This is more than a personal adventure- we are turning it into a platform for positive impact. The charities we have chosen are close to our hearts, and we are grateful for the opportunity to support them.

Donations will be split between several worthy charities:

Help For Hero’s : champions the Armed Forces community and helps them live well after service, ensuring they feel valued, supported, and no one is left behind. The charity supports men and women wounded while serving in the British Armed Forces to recover and get on with their lives.

The Fire Fighters Charity : which is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for all serving and retired fire service personnel, their dependents, and their families across the United Kingdom.

Mind: their mission is to provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem.

James Paget and Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital- NICU:

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is a specialist regional intensive care unit which cares for babies that may need additional observations, and minor treatment for babies born prematurely requiring specialist care.

Babies may be in intensive care, high dependency, or the special care areas of the unit. The unit receives babies from across the region, and further afield and can see more than 850 babies a year.

Women's Homelessness and Safer Accommodation Hostel, Norfolk:

Many women face homelessness due to domestic abuse, financial hardship, and many other crises. Donations support safe, temporary refuges offering emergency accommodation, emotional support, advocacy and pathways to safe independence.

Climbing the Himalayas is a symbol of overcoming extraordinary obstacles. By linking this physical challenge to charitable impact, we transform a personal summit into a shared victory for communities in need.
