Hi everyone. I'm Rachel, and I’ve been very fortunate to make friends with some truly lovely people in Gaza..

I’m fundraising for two of those friends.

Meet Haneen: Haneen married the love of her life, Mahmoud, in February 2025. She’s a teacher and they both founded and ran a school in Gaza. However, it was bombed and since then they’ve found countless ways to help others during the Genoside.

Mahmoud’s Dad and brother were killed in the bombing and Haneen is now pregnant with her first baby. Tragically every hospital in Gaza city is in ruins, their house is rubble and there is limited aid. The bombing continues during the "ceasefire". She’s a terrified prisoner in her own country and is so afraid as winter is also approaching. Her baby is due any day now.

Meet Sallam: Sallam is a student nurse who was just about to graduate before Oct 7th. The infrastructure has collapsed, and he wasn’t able to complete his degree. He’s the father of 5 young children and cares for his brother in law who lost his leg in a bombing, needing regular nursing care and clinic visits. He’s not good with social media, and therefore doesn’t get a lot of donations or help. He’s a kind, wise and humble man doing the best in frightening times to support and protect his family.

UPDATE: The bombing has started again! The rains are leaving people living in tents in the mud. Winter is cruel with the world aid being PREVENTED to enter by Iz. The people of Gaza have returned to a completely decimated and flattened land. Demolition continues. People are starving. There is no sourse of income.

Can you imagine living there in times like this, when everything is completely beyond your control and you have no means to earn any money?

In summary, they desperately need help.

So, Im doing what I can to help.

I wish there was more I could do, but my goal is to at least help provide some finances for them over the winter for food, blankets and warm clothing, while they try to rebuild their homes and lives.

UPDATE: I’m asking for sponsorship as I complete an 8 hour marathon walk disecting the island of Langkawi. Its a 30km walk. The wet season prevents us from being allowed to do the steep climb up Matcingcang, but RAIN, HAIL OR SHINE, we will be walking on the 21st November. I will be doing this with friends, and doing it with Haneen, her new baby, and Sallam and his family in my heart.

Any amount you can afford no matter how small, will really make a difference.
