Hike and Shave for Baby Noah and Féileacháin

We (Michelle and Thomas Walsh) had our baby boy Noah on New Year's Eve 2019. Noah was born sleeping when Michelle was just 24 weeks pregnant. To say we were heartbroken is an understatement and we continue on our path without our precious baby boy in our arms but firmly in our hearts.
The charity Féileacháin has been and still is an immense support to us on this very difficult journey. Féileacháin provides support to bereaved families who have suffered loss through stillbirth or neonatal death. There are 300 stillborn babies in Ireland every year. While in the hospital the amazing Midwifery team in Mayo University Hospital provided us with the following from Féileacháin: information leaflets, a beautiful memory box and also a cuddle cot which enabled us to bring Noah home for the 2 nights before his cremation.
Féileacháin gave us strength and guidance and encouraged us to make memories of our short time with our baby boy. We will always be grateful for the assistance of this fantastic charity. Féileacháin also have a support line where you can speak with other bereaved parents which is a huge support.
We wanted to raise funds so that other parents who find themselves facing the same unimaginably difficult journey as us would have Féileacháin's assistance to navigate their path following baby loss.
But what type of fundraiser to honour Noah's memory??
We came up with the idea of using Noah's date of birth to decide on a challenge.
So adding 31 and 12 the result is 43 so that was the magic number. We will walk 43km in total for our baby boy. We plan on completing the hike on Monday the 31st of August 2020.
Tommy has also recently acquired a handlebar moustache (see pic) in the last few months so at the end of the 43km hike for Noah and Féileacháin Tommy will shave off his moustache!!
