Highway 2 Community Drive In Theater Projector

The Highway 2 Community Drive In Theater is the last drive in theater in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Located in Manistique, the Highway 2 is owned and operated by the Upper Peninsula Film Union, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Movie events at the Highway 2 are always free thanks to the generous sponsors who pay for the movie licensing. The concession stand at the Highway 2 is always operated by a nonprofit group to help them raise funds for their respective causes. Going into our 8th season of operation we have helped other nonprofit groups raise over $25,000

We have been operating with a less-than-adequate project for all of these years and it is time for an update. For the upcoming season (and beyond) we are hoping to raise funds for a projector that will provide a sharper and brighter image on the screen to help make the drive in movie going experience more enjoyable for those in attendance.

We would also like to raise enough money to have the screen refinished in professional drive in theater screen paint. This will help make the image brighter and therefore more enjoyable as well.

The complete project will cost over $10,000 but that amount of money will get the critical elements of the project paid for. We can work on the rest of it over time.
