My name is Leon Sheffield. I am a 50-year-old on a divine mission to bring something truly special to New Orleans, LA, High Vibes Yoga and Art Studio in the historic 7th Ward. After 20+ years as an Internal Auditor in Corporate America, I felt called to start a new journey—one filled with healing, creativity, and community. High Vibes Yoga and Art Studio is the result of my own journey of self-discovery. My goal is to build community and help people traveling their own paths with intentional movement and transformative art.

I have set up my home to support both the yoga and art studio. High Vibes Yoga and Art Studio will be the first of its kind in New Orleans 7th Ward—a black, gay owned initiative where everyone is welcomed, providing a safe, uplifting space for black artists and all yoga enthusiasts to come together, create, and heal. The funds raised through GoFundMe will help cover major startup costs, such as studio rental, buying supplies, paying web services, planning healing retreats for black gay men, buying supplies so black artists can free create and express themselves, and planning events in the space where the community can find connections, inspiration and love.

Your contributions will literally help dreams come true. I am truly committed to giving back to the community and creating something beautiful and unique, here in New Orleans. A percentage of every sale from High Vibes Art Studio will go to Covenant House on North Rampart Street. Covenant House New Orleans provides shelter, love and hope to young people facing homelessness, including survivors of human trafficking. Many of these young souls are black gay teens who have experience things that no individual should experience, let alone a young spirit growing and learning in a world that is so often unkind and unaccepting.
