My Volunteer Trip to Kenya
Donation protected
For years, my most ambitious dream has been to go to Africa and make a difference in the lives of people who need for so much. The seeds of my dream were planted when I went to Ethiopia, met my brothers, and saw how fortunate we are in this country in terms of our possessions and what opportunities are available to us.
This summer, I have a wonderful chance to travel to Kenya for two weeks on a medical mission trip. Not only would it be an amazing experience in terms of the people I would meet and the cultures I would see, but I would travel with a General Surgeon and a Pediatrician. These are two of the specialties I am considering as I get closer to medical school, and the chance to see them both "in action" while overseas is an opportunity that would be life changing.
While dreams are free, the trip is not. The cost is rather expensive for the short amount of time I'll be there, but it would cover my food, airplane ticket, housing and anything else I can think of. Any support would mean the world to me, as I can not think of a better way to spend my time. Not only would I see a part of the world I have only imagined, but I could see the difference the hands and mind of a physician would make in a country so different than our own.
I sincerely hope to help those in need in Kenya, and hope you all can help me succeed in this endeavor. Thanks to anyone and everyone in advance!!
