Hezekiah Foundation - Water for Flint, Michigan

Hello everyone, my name is Joy Morounfolu. I am a junior at Indiana University studying neuroscience on a pre-med track.  I have thought long and hard about starting my own fundraising organization, and I have finally decided to turn my dreams into a reality. I chose to name my organization, Hezekiah Foundation, after my late grandfather who had a stroke which left him immobile. I have decided to dedicate a year to fundraise in order to buy water for Flint, Michigan. In 2014, there were traces of lead poisoning in the water, and in 2019, they are still without clean water. The water crisis has claimed much livestock. The lead poisoning in the Flint water has neurologically affected many people. Lead poisoning has a vast amount of detrimental effects such as cognitive deficiencies along with effects on the brain, kidney, and liver. I aspire to be a pediatrician and seeing the children that are affected by the lead exposure sparked something in me. I have a goal of raising $1,500 dollars to purchase 1,000 cases or more of water to deliver to the people of Flint Michigan. Please share this along with the link to everyone you know.
