Hiker's Bio:

Hettie Brittz has been married to Louis Brittz (a worship pastor) for 32 years. They have 3 grown children, a granddaughter and a grandson on the way. Hettie is passionate about God’s design for purpose in individuals and in the families He places us in. She believes when we understand our design, we can live fruitfully and meaningfully. Redeeming the worth of people in slavery so that they can step into their God-given calling, drew her to the plight of human trafficking victims and survivors. Her own experience of sexual violence during a home invasion in 2010 taught her experientially the truth that He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4) and that no weapon formed against us can prosper, including this most demeaning of all weapons. She believes in redemption, and wants to be a part of that for those who are most vulnerable. She works as a marriage and family coach at her local church in Tennessee, leads a mental health support group, trains parenting and leadership coaches and develops curriculum and books to strengthen families. Her happy place is in the mountains, and her boots for climbing Machu Picchu have already been to the top of Kilimanjaro, the French and Swiss Alps, table Mountain, the Drakensberg, Grand Tetons, and a few others. She is looking forward to many more!
