Hero Hunter's Leukaemia Battle

Friends, this little guy is Hunter, my super hero nephew.

He is eight years old, 5 of those years he and his family have battled Acute Lymphocytic Leukaemia (A.L.L). This is a type of blood cancer and unfortunately he has just relapsed for the third time and he is about to undergo his forth line of treatment in 5 years. It will include intensive chemotherapy, radiation, experimental drugs and a bone morrow transplant. He will be in hospital for about 6 months, most of in isolation with his Mum and Dad caring for him, rotating from one night to the next. You cannot imagine how numerous and tough all the medical procedures he goes through are.

As you can imagine this is going to have a huge impact on the family in so many ways, one of them being financial. So, we are organising a little fundraiser to help them through this very difficult time. There has been a huge amount of support sent his and the family's way over the past five years and there has been some amazing stories amoungst all of the pain to make his and the family life a little more bearable. With such a huge fight still in front of them they are going to need this continued support.

Both his mum Kate and dad Dave have pretty much not been able to work throughout the 5 year fight. So the money raised here will be going directly to them to help pay for all the mounting costs and ongoings of having to get through this.
