Hero Fire Capt. Attacked By Political Extremists

Donation protected

Nashville Metro Fire Dept. Captain, Tracy Turner,  has  been unjustly placed on administrative leave due to unfounded complaints filed by political extremists.

We're raising money to support Capt. Turner as he prepares for his legal defense in the hope of restoring his career and outstanding reputation of public service.

Capt. Turner has served the Nashville Metro Fire Department for 25 years. He has saved countless lives and worked tirelessly to serve his community. Anyone who knows Capt. Turner can attest to the countless sacrifices he has made for his community.  This year has been no exception: Tracy has sacrificially served his community through the tornadoes that devastated Nashville and the storms that followed, the COVID-19 crisis, and the civil unrest that struck our city. Despite decades of charity, service, kindness, and respect, Tracy is now fighting for the ability to keep serving his community.

The problem?

Capt. Turner is a conservative Christian. Like many people, Capt. Turner is active on social media and has a Facebook page. Unfortunately, left-wing political activists have been digging through his personal Facebook page in pursuit of anything that could be used against him. They found a couple of Capt. Turner's recent posts and used them to file a complaint against Capt. Turner. They also went so far as to report Capt. Turner's personal Facebook posts to the local media, which prompted several political opportunists to rush to condemn Capt. Turner. This led to Capt. Turner being placed on administrative leave.

Facing the incredible struggles of 2020, Capt. Turner has been deeply invested in the issues facing our community. He has been, quite literally, putting out the fires caused by a year of unrest. He's been deeply concerned about his community and the lives of his fellow public servants. His entire life has been spent protecting others and caring for those in difficult circumstances.

So what were the posts?

And here's the news article that set if off: https://fox17.com/news/local/nashville-fire-department-captains-facebook-posts-draws-anger-from-some-community-members

While not everyone may agree with Tracy's positions, I think most would agree that it's shameful that a city would sacrifice one of their own first responders over such relatively commonplace and harmless words. (Made on a personal Facebook account, no less.)

How can you help?

Capt. Turner is now in a battle to regain his career. He's facing the strain of legal fees and misdirected public condemnation. He's fallen prey to political hysteria. He's been assassinated in the local media. All because he exercised his First Amendment right and shared his opinions with his friends on Facebook.

We are raising money to help pay for Capt. Turner's legal fees. What has happened to this beloved Nashville hero is unjust and an affront to the tolerance, freedom, and justice our nation so deeply values.
