Hernan's Family Fund: Unjustly Detained by ICE

On September 17th before 6 AM, ICE, FBI, and Homeland Security were following Edgar Hernan Elias Escobar from his home, where he lives with his wife, Leslie Perlera Gonzalez, a US citizen who happens to be one of my best friends for the past 20 years.

They sideswiped his vehicle, smashed his window in, and had a taiser pointed at his face. They refused to identify themselves when asked multiple times. He was injured during the arrest and was sent to Melrose Wakefield Hospital. There, his attorney and wife were not allowed to speak with him. Dozens of supporters came to the hospital, and we were told that they were releasing him from their care. At that time, all of the exits were locked, and we could not go outside to see him be released, at which time, he was arrested by ICE and taken to the Burlington Detention Center.

Hernan has no criminal record, is a caretaker for his elderly mother, and has been living here for almost a decade. Senators and congresswomen are involved. We are asking the public to call local and state officials, share this post, and make our voices loud for this incredible injustice.

Leslie will be using these funds to help Hernan and his family during this time. As we mentioned, he is the caretaker for his elderly mother and helps with his sister as well. We are raising money to be able to support him and his family.
