Support The Hernández Mission Trip to Costa Rica 2025

Dear friends and family - Queridos amigos y familia,

We are excited to share with you that this July we: Zoe, Jonah & Nicole will be joining a team from our student ministry here at Vineyard Columbus Church for a mission trip to Costa Rica!

The dates we’ll be there are from July 2nd to July 11th. We will be working directly with an organization called: Vida Missions. You can see their website for more information: https://vidanet.org

We’re excited to join this organization as it is geared specifically toward helping young people work alongside others in a cross-cultural setting. In this 9 day trip we will spend 3 days in training, 5 days serving alongside a local church either doing service projects, evangelism or working with kids in various activities and 1 day to see a little bit of the country.

As you can imagine, there is a financial commitment to participate in this trip. The original amount we collectively needed to raise was $4,700 to cover logistic expenses (airfare, lodging, transportation, food, & taxes). We kickstarted our fundraising with a yard sale in May, where we raised over $300 and we have been doing lots of odd jobs and in person fundraising with neighbors and our local communities. So far we have raised $2,000 so the remaining amount we have left to raise is $2,700!!!

While money is important, it comes in at a distant second to our need for your prayer support. As this trip will stretch us in many ways, would you pray for our whole team: that we would learn to work and serve together, that we would have grace and understanding for each other, and that we would have compassion toward others and ourselves leaning into the guidance of the Holy Spirit during this mission trip in Costa Rica. As we are the only 3 people going on this trip who are bilingual, please pray for our mental stamina as translation takes extra energy! We’re excited to be able to serve in this way and so many others and are expectant to see how God moves through us and around us during this time.
