I'm reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for someone who would never ask for it herself. My dear friend, a single mother of three incredible boys. She is one of the most selfless people I know, a woman who gives her all, every single day, even when she has nothing left to give. She's carried the weight of motherhood alone with quiet strength, doing everything in her power to build a better life for her children.

But right now, life has knocked her down and she needs us to help her get back up.

She was recently laid off from her job and, despite doing everything right… applying for aid, seeking child support, budgeting every penny… she's now left with nothing. She's doing it all on her own with no help from her children's father. She was denied assistance from state programs because her unemployment benefits were just slightly over the threshold, even though they barely covered her basic expenses.

To make things worse, her unemployment was cut off three months early. And now she's facing the terrifying reality of having no income at all.

Her rent alone is $2,500, not because she's living extravagantly, but because she's raising three children in New Jersey, where rent prices are unforgiving. She's not asking for help because she's careless or unmotivated. She's asking because she's run out of options and truthfully, she wouldn't even have the courage to ask if I weren't stepping in for her. That's how proud and strong she is.

She is scared. She is overwhelmed. But she is still showing up every day for her children. Now it's our turn to show up for her.
