Henley Mermaids for Henley Community Hub
Spende geschützt
Henley Mermaids are a group of 5 middle-aged women who take on swimming challenges for charity. To date, we have raised over £90,000 and swum, amongst others the English Channel, Bristol Channel & North Channel in relay, as well as swimming from the source of the Thames to Henley-on-Thames.

2023 holds a very different challenge. Laura is attempting to swim the English Channel solo between August 23 - 28, 21 miles of the busiest shipping lane in the world & the other 4 mermaids are taking on the 21 miles of a chilly Loch Ness in relay.
Over this year the mermaids will be raising money for Henley Community Hub, which is a new initiative founded by mermaid Laura, which will be run from Trinity Hall, Harpsden Road, Henley. The hall has been left to fall into disrepair, and needs total renovation, so it can become a hub for the whole community and a permanent base for Henley Music School. Trinity Hall is a beautiful old building in the center of Henley that will be renovated sustainably, fully accessible, and will become fit for use, and available for everyone. The space will include a dedicated counselor for young people, a youth club, flexible performance and activity space, practice and teaching rooms, recording studio, offices, instrument storage & meeting rooms, all for use by anyone. A really exciting project, costing upwards of £1,000,000 which will see a much needed safe place for the whole community with music at its heart.
