Help Provide Housing Stability During a Tough Transition
It is often much harder to ask for help than it is to give it. Throughout my life, I have always tried my best to step up when someone asked for a hand. Whether it was a friend in a bind, a school program, disaster relief efforts, or church groups, I’ve always believed in supporting a worthy cause. Today, I find myself in the humbling position of needing to ask for a helping hand.

Navigating a New Reality
As some of you know, my family recently went through a major transition. Back in October, we ended up separating. Since then, we have been working hard to maintain a 50/50 custody arrangement and do what is best for our children.

When we moved to North Carolina five years ago, it was a big leap. We sacrificed the immediate, daily support of our hometown friends and family to build a life here, taking on a higher cost of living in the process. Now that I am navigating this life on a single income, I am facing significant financial hurdles. I am incredibly fortunate to still be employed at a job I have loved for the last nine years (which ironically means I help people on a daily basis), but stretching one income to cover the same household expenses has become slightly overwhelming in this transition phase.

The Urgent Need
My greatest priority right now is preserving the life and stability my children know. Unfortunately, the financial strain of the last six months has caught up with me. Last week, my landlord notified me that they are filing eviction papers for the house we have lived in for the last five years—the only home my kids have known since we moved to NC (prior to the separation).

How Your Support Helps
I am raising funds to immediately halt the eviction process and secure our housing so we can figure out our next steps without the looming threat of losing our current home. Your support will go directly toward:

Paying past-due rent and fees to stop the eviction process.
Keeping my kids in their familiar environment while the dust settles from our separation and the legal processes are finalized and providing a bridge so I can regain my financial footing on a single income.

If you have ever navigated a separation with children, you likely know that the most desired outcome is to protect their peace of mind. I want to make sure they can just keep being kids, knowing that at the end of the day, everything is going to be alright.

I am so grateful for the family and friends who have supported me over these last few months. If you are in a position to help us stay in our home during these coming weeks and months, I would appreciate it more than words can say. You also have my promise that I will continue to be there to pay it forward to anyone who needs my help in the future.

Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting us through this new chapter.
