Kape Libre is a community-based program that began in Barangay San Antonio in 2009. It originally took place in front of the organizers’ home during Simbang Gabi (the 9-day series of dawn Masses) every Christmas season. In 2013, the initiative was moved to the town center at the Parish of Sta. Lucia in Sasmuan, Pampanga, to allow for more parishioners to participate. Over the years, we have offered free coffee and bread or assorted snacks to churchgoers as a simple symbol of service and unity within the community.

For those who have not yet visited our town: Sasmuan is a 4th-class municipality in the Philippines with a population of 32,081 based on the 2024 National Statistics Census Survey. It is composed of 12 barangays or village: six town proper barangay and six coastal barangay. The town is surrounded by the Bangkung Malapad Critical Habitat, part of the Sasmuan Pampanga Coastal Wetlands, a wetland of international importance recognized as the 8th Ramsar Site in the country and the first in Central Luzon.

The Kape Libre project was inspired by the “CP24 Toronto Christmas Wish Build-A-Toy” program in Canada, which collects and distributes toys to children during the Christmas season. In 2009, I used a small portion of my Christmas cash bonus to start the initiative. From that humble beginning, it has grown into a cherished community tradition—a unique project that, to our knowledge, takes place only here in Pampanga during the Christmas season.

We are now humbly seeking your help and support in establishing our mobile coffee business—an income-generating effort that will greatly assist in sustaining and strengthening the Kape Libre program.

To ensure smooth and continuous operations, we need to acquire the following equipment:

· Mobile Coffee Cart – Php15,000 ($375)

· 2 Coffee Boilers (12L each) – Php6,246 ($156.15)

· Portable Power Station (2000W output) – Php24,000 ($600)

· Gemilai CRM9015A Coffee Grinder – Php10,509 ($262.73)

· Initial supplies (coffee, sugar, milk, paper cups, and other consumables) – Php12,000 ($300)

Total Amount Needed: $1,694 ($1=Php40)

We deeply appreciate your time, compassion, and generous support.
