NOT EVERYONE IS HOMELESS BY CHOICE
Although many are less fortunate, they are still HUMAN!!!
Education is Key 501 c (3) and Sound Teaching is asking for DONATIONS to help feed at least 2000 people on March 13th of 2022 for our annual "Help The Homeless Project". 2022 will be 6th year putting on a service project since March of 2016. Still, we would like to feed those (especially the children) around the Los Angeles Area (Skid Row) who are hungry and living on the streets. One hundred percent of all donations will go directly to increasing the number of people we can feed and increase the number of people we can serve. All donations will go towards purchasing food, drinks, and toiletries. This event will be a life-changing event for us and those who will receive these gifts of food and toiletries and those who contribute to support this ACT of KINDNESS!!!
HELPING OTHERS IS OUR MISSION AND FUEL TO SURVIVING
Although feeding the homeless is a part of our yearly efforts, we can never feed more than what our budget allowed us to. All donations and contributions will impact those suffering from homelessness and will help put a smile on someone's face.
In January 2015, Point-In-Count reported 564 708 people homeless on a given night in the United States. Of that number, 206,286 were families, and 358,422 were individuals. For those who live in California or have visited, homelessness is prevalent state-wide, evident in major cities such as Los Angeles (Skid Row), Hollywood (where you go to see all the STARS), San Pedro, and many other areas. California is one of the highest-ranked states for homelessness. Los Angeles County, in particular, has more than 44 500 people living on the streets. As of 2022, homelessness has increased to 63,706 people throughout LA County. Homelessness is a severe issue, and we all can help do something for the homeless. Your time may be now. Donate to feed one more person….
Being able to feed more than 400 people would be a "Dream Come True." It would be the most humbling and gracious experience. I want to thank those who will contribute and support this cause in advance.
DID YOU KNOW?
Four different groups experience homelessness:
Families - Families become homeless due to some unforeseen financial crisis - a medical emergency, a car accident, a death in the family - that prevents them from being able to hold on to housing.
Youth - Young people often become homeless due to family conflict, including divorce, neglect, or abuse.
Veterans - Veterans often become homeless due to war-related disabilities. For various reasons – physical disability, mental anguish, post-traumatic stress, etc. – many veterans find readjusting to civilian life difficult. Difficulties readjusting can give rise to dangerous behaviors, including addiction, abuse, and violence, which, coupled with the problems, can lead to homelessness.
Chronic Homelessness - Chronic homelessness is often the public face of homelessness. "Chronic" has a specific definition, involving either long-term and repeated bouts of homelessness coupled with disability (physical or mental). People experiencing chronic homelessness often live in shelters and consume a plurality of the homeless assistance system’s resources.
Sometimes when you think of homelessness, many have a standard conception, described as “Chronic Homelessness.” Although we may believe this is the most common form of homelessness, we may have to think again. It’s a common misconception that this group represents most of the homeless population. Instead, they account for less than 15 percent of the entire homeless people on a given day.
