Helping the local community
Donation protected
Aloha family and friends,
As my deployment in Africa comes to an end I was thinking about the interactions I was able to have with the local community. Everytime I volunteered my time to help, it made me want to give back more and more each time. Seeing the way others live then thinking about how we live back home was such a culture shock to me. After building school houses, donating school supplies and sewing machines and fabric, I noticed water is extremely scarce and they use wells as a main water source. Being in a desert, I can't imagine this being easy. I was told these wells are not maintained very well so when repairs are needed it is very hard for villages to get water when needed. I will be donating money to go towards the repairs and maintaining of these necessities that is needed among these people. I figured I would see if this message touched anyone out there who would like to help this community out and give back to amazing people in need. Upon the end of this, photos of how the donations were used will be uploaded with the community that was aided and you can see first hand the impact you've created and how grateful these people are to have others out there who care for them. Any donations left over will be used to purchase whatever else they need. Every cent makes a difference and I'm so grateful to be put in an opportunity to be able to help others that would help me if they could. Thank you for taking the time to read this!
If anyone wants any information that is not on this post then please message me directly as it was probably sensitive information that was not able to be posted for public.
