My name is Paulie Ramirez and my family and I are raising money to help pay for the costs of my mother’s services and medical bills. My mother recently had gotten arrested and got COVID in jail. Now, she also suffered from addiction and we are ultimately unsure of the cause of her condition is. We were told she had a seizure in the jail and then later had a heart attack causing her heart to stop for an unknown amount of time. They were able to bring her heart back but the amount of time without oxygen to the brain is unknown. We have been told that she is suffering from a severe brain injury and will not have any quality of life ever if she survives longer than anticipated. She has not passed at this time and we are not sure when she may as we were told they don’t anticipate her being able to breathe on her own longer than 24-48 hours. Later Today will be the 48 hour mark and we are just wanting to begin raising any funds as it may take us a while to get everything situated. Unfortunately both my parents are homeless/without stable living. My dad is on disability and has a fixed income, however, it is only enough for him to eat and live so he stays with friends and family around town. My brother and I work to live paycheck to paycheck right now so we as a family do not have any means to pay for any services or memorials that we would like to have for her. We also are unsure of what the medical side of things are going to come out to cost wise as she was in the ICU for over a week and is still currently under Hospice care. The Hospice care itself is taken care of however she is still at Baptist Medical until she passes on her own. We have not set any dates for anything at this time we are just getting a rough estimate based on pricing we have received so far for services and hopefully some of the medical bills which we are unsure of the cost of right now. We would appreciate any donation even as little as $1 to $5 to help pay for these things as this was so unexpected.
