CAMPAIGN UPDATE: Thus far, this gofundme campaign for Help MorrisNOW has helped to purchase nearly 35,000 lbs of food for Morris County's most needy in the form of bags filled with chicken, eggs, rice, beans, fruits and vegetables, nutritious food boxes from Blessings of Hope, and dinners served to Homeless Solutions' shelter guests. We have kept our food costs extremely low at roughly 60 cents a pound. Each donation dollar is stretched far to do the most good. As much of our funding has been exhausted, we are making a final push so we can provide more food and supplies to Morris County's most needy.
Help MorrisNOW is a charitable organization spearheaded by Judy and Nestor Bedoya. As owners of Chef Freddy's Table in Morristown, they quickly identified the considerable need in the community and began helping their neighbors in Morristown and Morris Township.
This incredible grassroots effort has now received support from many of the local restaurants, businesses, and residents, and is feeding hundreds of families each weekend. Meals are available at St. Margaret's Church on Saturdays at noon. Updates can be found on the HelpMorrisNOW Facebook page .
As part of RED Day (Renew - Energize - Donate), an annual event of giving back to the communities where we live, Keller Williams Realty Metropolitan will be supporting Help MorrisNOW through strategic fundraising efforts and onsite support.
Keller Williams Metropolitan and its agents provided a dollar for dollar match on all donations on the initial $10,000 of donations. All the money used will be put towards purchasing nourishing food and prepared meals for our neighbors in Morris County.
