Dear Friends,

My name is Samantha Saavedra, and I am the owner of Mira Flores, a small business in the Temescal neighborhood of Oakland, California. In the early hours of Friday morning, at 4:30 AM, our beloved store fell victim to a devastating burglary, in which there was significant inventory of one of a kind pieces and handmade goods stolen; along with damage to the property. All of which was sadly not covered by our insurance.

Mira Flores isn't just a store; it's a home for local artists, makers and purveyors of vintage clothing. Unfortunately, on Friday, our alleyway, along with three other businesses, was targeted by thieves.

With your generosity and support, we aim to help these affected artists recover their inventory costs and also secure our premises with a much-needed security system. Your contributions will not only assist us in rebuilding our store but also in restoring a sense of safety and security for our community.

As a new establishment, open for just a year and a half, we've poured our hearts into curating handmade items and showcasing the talents of our local artists. The burglars didn't just steal merchandise, they took away the livelihoods of these hardworking individuals. Everything we offer is one of a kind and/or on consignment, and the losses incurred have been overwhelming.
