Support & Family Reunification for Sora, a Lapu Lapu Victim

Hi, my name is Lucy and I live in East Vancouver. I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of Fong Wang, also known as Sora, who was critically injured in the Lapu Lapu festival tragedy. I know Sora because she is my neighbour and lives across the street from me.

Currently, Sora is at VGH in stable condition. She lay unconscious and unidentified for over 48 hours, but, due to the perseverance of her local and international friends, as well as her distinctive tattoo, she was successfully ID'd on April 28th. As of today, Sora remains unconscious in the ICU unit with a brain injury. She has already received surgeries to repair a broken leg and fractured spine and will have a difficult life ahead of her.

Sora is from Taiwan and has been in Vancouver for just over four months on a working holiday visa. She has no family here but is passionate about traveling and experiencing new things. With a cheerful and optimistic personality, Sora is a kind and selfless friend who always gives love generously and helps others through difficult times.

As such, we are raising funds to help bring her cousins from Taiwan to help make medical decisions for her, cover their living expenses while staying in Vancouver to care for Sora, and most importantly, to help Sora navigate a very challenging road to recovery.

In the aftermath of this unthinkable tragedy, Sora's Vancouver friends and neighbours are asking for your help. Any donations, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated and mean the world to Sora and her loved ones.
