I am a philanthropist and regular columnist about Philanthropy and I am fundraising for a local Lebanese non-profit association in Achrafieh community in Beirut which is locally supporting families in need after Beyrouth with food distribution, medical and social care of any kind. There is international aid on the way but the aid is needed now to cope with the emergency and funds collected in this campaign will go weekly and directly to Achrafieh2020. Help#Youhavethepower.
100 USD will help one family for a month and 50,000LBP (35 USD) will help repair a window damaged by the blast so families can return to their home. Help with the support of one window or help repairing a window.
Show your love of humankind, help the fundraising campaign “helpLebanon2020” to support a local Beirut based lebanese non-profit association “Achrafieh2020”. They are doing such an incredible work and help is needed now.
The explosion that tore through Beirut on the 4th August, will have devastating consequences for a country already suffering from a financial, economic and health crisis.
The blast, which killed more than 150 people and injured 5,000 thousand, occurred at a warehouse in Beirut's port area, where nearly 2,700 tons of ammonium nitrate were being stored. 300,000 people are now homeless as a result of the blast in a country already hardly touched by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The explosion has been a blow to a country where more than 45% of the population now lives below the poverty line and about 33% are unemployed.
We are launching a fundraising campaign locally and internationally to help “Achrafieh2020” which is currently supporting 1,100 families with food, logistics, hospitalization, drug prescription and social care and has committed to repair 5000 windows and doors damaged by the blast in order to allow displaced families to return to their home.
Our goal is to help Achrafieh2020 with its task to support these families.
