On April 24th, Miriam and Brian received the news that no parent ever wants to hear — their son, Zander, has been diagnosed with leukemia.

They are currently staying at Sydney Children's Hospital Randwick, where Zander has begun treatment. Doctors have advised that Zander will need to remain in hospital for an extended period, with chemotherapy expected to keep them there for almost 200 days this year and 1-2 Weeks at home between treatments.

Miriam and Brian are two of the most kind-hearted and selfless people you could ever meet. They are always the first to show up for others — no matter the time, place, or circumstance. Now, they are facing one of the toughest challenges of their lives, standing strong beside Zander every step of the way.

With Brian being self-employed and Miriam working as a contractor, this situation means they currently have little to no income while they focus on supporting their son through treatment.
