HELP !
My name is Jim O'Brien. founder of fishnforheroswoundedwarriorsinc a 501c3 non profit organization. I started back in Nov 2012. I take wounded vets from Afghanistan and Iraq and purple heart vets from Vietnam fishing 30 - 40 miles out on the Gulf of Mexico at no cost to them.
We take 6 wounded vets out or 3-4 wounded vets in wheelchairs and my mate and myself. We feed them lunch out on the water and when we get back from fishing my mate and I clean the catch and we take 8-9 pounds of fish to the restaurant and they can have the fish cooked however they want. All side dishes salads baked potato's and drinks are all on us. We are also trying to raise enough money to get a new or newer boat with engines under warranty.
Last year I went on security and Medicare and I can't afford to go get a loan for a new boat. I have been doing this since 2012. I used to have 28' Maco center console with twin 250's and we are trying to get back to a 28 -32 ft boat on a trailer and hopefully get an extended warranty if not new. We do fund raisers all year long to raise money to take them fishing... but we can't raise enough money to get a new or newer boat.
You can also donate a boat as a tax deductible donation for us to use or sell to buy a newer boat. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
