Celebrating Women Strenght: Power - Grace - Wisdom - Wonder
I became a Twin Mom back in August 2020 at 32 weeks pregnant in the middle of the pandemic so my twin girls were born premature in Cali, Colombia. Their weight was about 2.6 and 3.5 pounds each. As a first time mom I was not prepared, I was alone and I got worried I would have to go home without my babies because they were transferred to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. That alone is the most painful feeling, not even my C-Section hurt that much. My babies were in NICU one baby for 2 weeks and the other for about a month. These premature babies need to be in Kangaroo Mother Care which is on your chest with skin to skin contact for at least three hours a day to catch up on weight faster.
The time I spent with my babies on my chest, allowed me to witness cases of single moms who couldn't come to see their babies every day because they couldn't afford a bus ticket. Also babies of Venezuelan migrant moms who lived in tents. It was sad to see babies not having either parent to hold them at visit hours.
Must baby items are expensive and it's hard to afford these especially for low income or no income at all moms like them. So to celebrate women strength and give back, I created this GoFundMe Campaign to collect money to make GIFT BABY BASKETS to these WONDER WOMEN and their babies in need from this medical facility in Cali, Colombia.
Also 10% will be donated to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention AFSP.

Celebrando La Fuerza de la Mujer: Poder - Gracia - Sabiduría - Maravilla
Me convertí en madre de gemelas en Agosto 2020 a las 32 semanas de embarazo en medio de la pandemia, mis gemelas nacieron prematuras en Cali, Colombia. Su peso fue de 1200 y 1600 gramos cada una. Como madre primeriza no estaba preparada, estaba sola y me preocupaba tener que irme a casa sin mis bebes porque fueron transferidas a la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos para Recién Nacidos. Ese sentimiento es el más doloroso. Ni siquiera la Cesárea dolía tanto como eso. Mis bebes estuvieron en UCI RN, una por 2 semanas y las otra por un mes. Estos bebes prematuros requieren Cuidado de Madre Canguro, que es sobre tu pecho piel con piel por lo menos 3 horas al día para que ganen peso rápido.
El tiempo que pase con mis bebes sobre mi pecho, me permitió ver casos de madres solteras que no podían venir a ver sus bebes cada día porque no tenían dinero para el tiquete de bus. También bebes de madres inmigrantes venezolanas que vivían en carpas. Fue muy triste ver bebés con ningún padre o madre presente en horario de visita.
La mayoría de los artículos para bebé son costosos y es difícil comprarlos especialmente para madres de bajos recursos o madres sin ningún ingreso como ellas.
