Helping Tribe Salon build a salon for abused women

Donation protected

Help our salon raise the funds necessary to finish building a salon in rural Baja California Mexico.
This project will help the women at MNC connect, support them financially, and gain a certificate in cosmetology.
What is Mujeres Nuevo Comienzo (MNC)?
it is a safe place where women who are abused, trafficked, abandoned and shattered to come with their children.
They are
-fed spiritually
-loved unconditionally
-provided with food, clothing materials, and a safe home
-taught basic literacy and life skills
trained and equipped with work skills

Haylee came to me with a drawing of her dream salon that she wanted to build in Mexico at the shelter her family and her support. Haylee has been traveling to this shelter since she was 15 years old and helping these women in need… her vision for this space goes beyond the physical and dives into the healing journey of the women who enter into Dorothy’s care.
When she told me she wanted to build a shampoo room like ours, it honestly brought me to tears. Those little touches that I put into our space to promote self care for our clients and to give our guests a whole experience that’s more than just hair! This is what she wants to build for these women!! It’s beyond words! Haylee inspires me on so many levels and of course this is a project our team is going to make sure happens!

April 19th we had Dorthy visit our salon and talk to our group privately about the work she is doing in Mexico and share some stories with us about the women who are there or have visited the shelter.
Dorthy shared a story of a girl who arrived to the shelter at the age of 15 with a baby, the story was dark and as you could piece together things where not good. she had been told by her own mother she was old enough to provide for her family at the age of 9 as they had no food and where very poor!! This leading to immense trauma, the little girl pulled her own hair out as way of dealing with her pain. Dorthy helped this woman get an education, learn to love her baby and she now is in a healthy marriage and a beautiful mama to 3 kids.

Dorothy is who runs the women’s shelter day to day. She takes women and children who have been in the most horrific situations imaginable, women who have children out of the worst possible circumstances. She teaches these women how to love themselves again, how to love their children, how to care for themselves and their families. The women who enter her shelter are asked to commit to 1 year, education is a must for women and children as most can’t read and write. This is how she is breaking the cycle. She teaches them investing and helps them buy property and own their own home.
The shelter has a restaurant, barbershop, coffee shop, massage, sewing, a women who bakes and decorates cakes, they sell the best sausages in Mexico and the newest project is to build and train these women in cosmetology.

This is where our TRIBE comes in
Our plan is to fundraise $50,000 and then travel to the shelter, help set up the salon and teach sanitation, blowouts and our signature Shampoo Experience. Teaching women how to connect and heal through the art of hair.

▪️First Priority $20,000-$30,000 is needed to finish the construction of the salon
▪️Second Priority $10,000 is needed for supplies and to furnish salon
▪️Third Priority $10,000 to help cover costs of our teams travel and accommodation

If we can exceed our goals all extra funds will go directly to the shelter to help cover costs for day to day supplies and maintenance

We appreciate our community and we thank you for generosity
Love always
