Helping to raise funds for our brave girl Talitha

I have started this gofundme page so many times, it is such a heartbreaking plea that it is hard to find the right words to convey the full story.

I would like to introduce Talitha. A brave, capable, strong, kind 13yr old girl that has been dealt crushing blows in her life and now, thanks to the Covid 19 virus, finds herself an orphan. Our hope is that we will be able to raise enough money to put in trust so Talitha has the financial security needed to support her future education and help her on her life’s path, something her parents would have hoped to do.

The Backstory - Firstly I have to introduce Talitha’s dad Jay, my best friend. We first met when Talitha was three, when we became neighbours. Instantly his big personality pulled me in and he welcomed me and my daughter into the fold. A great Dad that was dedicated to his daughter, extended family and friends. Basically a good guy, always laughing and joking. Talitha’s Mum and Dad adored each other and after a short time together, were blessed with the news of a miracle baby. Tragically Talitha’s Mum was diagnosed with cancer during the pregnancy and shortly after Talitha was born, her Mum lost her battle.  With the help and support of his family and friends Jay dedicated his life to his daughter. Life was good for the two of them for quite a while until about five years ago when Jay’s health started to decline. He first suffered a stroke and then later cancer, all along Talitha was by his side, a tower of strength before her time. Jay fought to improve his health but a few months ago the cancer returned and then, despite shielding, he caught Covid 19 and was admitted to hospital. He was doing well and planning his return home but unfortunately Jay died peacefully on Monday 25th January 2021.

It was Jay’s wish to see Talitha happy and even walk her down the aisle before his time came but it wasn’t to be. So I am really hoping we can at least provide a little financial support to help her as Jay would have done.

I know we are all going through some very hard times right now but I hope you are all able to make a small contribution that will make a big difference to a very special girls’ life.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give, even if you aren’t able to help financially please share on your Facebook Timeline.
