Helping the Morsey Family
In August of 2018, 15 year old Maleah, underwent a surgery to remove a brain tumor. This tumor is called craniofaringioma. Complications arose and Maleah suffered two major strokes and total loss of vision of her right eye and reduced field of vision in her left eye. Her pituitary gland was damaged causing her to need daily hormone therapy to stay alive.
August of 2020 Maleah received the results of a routine MRI. The MRI revealed that the tumor has regrown and requires treatment.
Maleah will require 6 weeks of daily radiation treatments. To do this her father, who is the sole provider, will have to leave his job and family and live with Maleah in or near Washington DC. This will leave Maleah's mom back home taking care of Maleah's four siblings.
