Hello!

We are the Hooseman's. A family of 5, hopefully soon to be 6, not including our rescue Cat & Dog. I am currently 25 weeks pregnant with our fourth child (second son). We live on beautiful Vancouver Island. After a recent ultrasound, we were completely blindsided by news that our growing baby has been diagnosed with a heart congenital defect, called transposition of the great arteries (TGA). It essentially means our sons heart is not circulating blood properly which will cause oxygen deprivation at birth. He will immediately have to be put under, after birth, to have a hole put into his heart, so that he can have enough oxygen to survive until full open heart surgery days/hours after, to attempt restructuring the heart, to hopefully, successfully work properly. This means a long hospital stay, likely months. We will gratefully, be staying at ronald mcdonald house in Vancouver, while waiting for our baby to recover. My husband will be with me, as I won't be able to care for my other three children alone during this time. This will temporarily put my husband out of work. We are so thankful to live in BC where our babies surgeries will be covered, but with this trying time, life continues still. Bills will need to be paid, mortgage, food, ferry costs, medications, accomodation, as well as the loss of income my husband will lose. We are hoping to raise $10,000 to help cover some of these costs. Every dollar will be used to support our family during, what we imagine will be the hardest time our family has faced.
