Hello! My name is Debi Prince. I am a native Californian who absolutely loves connecting with people of all walks of life. Growing up in the San Francisco bay area, seeing Homeless is just a part of any regular day. The streets of San Francisco are dressed with men, women and children, who have no place to call home. I recently had the privilege to spend 4 months in Melbourne, Australia and I noticed it is very similar to San Francisco. The biggest difference that I took away from there, was the homeless population; there is not one. On any given day going into Melbourne city, you may see a small handful spread out in the central business district.  You will see in the entire area, what you will see on one city block in San Francisco.
 
I have since returned to San Francisco, and in the last week, my eyes have been wide open to the situation and what I have observed is that the majority of people do not see the homeless. They are seen as part of the street. We look at them like we look at a side of the building; we don't.  We forget that although they are homeless, they are still human beings who have feelings, thoughts, basic needs. They desire love and connection as do we.  

This Holiday I want to set out to connect with these people. I want to help give them a little warmth this season. The way I want to do this is to purchase items they may need and place them into their hands, look into their eyes, make a connection with as many homeless as possible. With each gift they will get a hand written card. The card will tell them that they have value. It will say that no matter where they are in life currently, they do not have to say there. It will be motivating and uplifting. 
Now I realize that there are many many people who also feel the way I do. But unfortunately we get caught up and find ourselves busy. This does not mean you do not want to help, we know this. So I am going to act for you. If you can help back this project, by donating anything your heart desires, I will be on the streets Christmas morning passing these cards and gifts out. 

The money will go towards things like: socks. toothbrushes, underwear, feminine products, books, blankets, jackets etc. I will be doing extensive research trying to find the best bargains to stretch the money as far as possible to make as big an impact as possible.  If you do not have the money to help, maybe you have time to clean your closet out? 

With each donation, you will have the opportunity to write a letter to be delivered. When you donate, you may type what you would like to pass on, and I will hand write it on a card. 

So again every little dollar counts. One dollar can buy a fresh pair of socks, and we all know how GREAT putting on new socks feels!!!  So imagine, if you skipped Starbucks one day ($5) you could buy 5 pairs of socks!! You see how that works! IMAGINE THE IMPACT WE TOGETHER COULD ALL HAVE. This is a beautiful opportunity that we can all do together.
