Helping the Helpful: Mr. Ocampo

Donation protected
You may not have met him, but Mr. Ocampo is an integral part of C.H.U.M.C.C. He has been our handyman for the past decade, but we also consider him part of our family. Mr. Ocampo is a 79 year old man who means so much to all of us and many more outside of Cal Heights. When not working at our school, he makes ends meet cutting lawns and doing landscaping work. He's a wonderful man, devoted husband, and a loving father.

On the night of March 12th, his van was stolen with everything he uses to make a living. He woke up the following morning to find that his entire livelihood that he's worked so hard for was gone in the blink of an eye.

The insurance company is not going to cover much, and he will likely be starting from scratch. Mr. Ocampo, or Seňor Ocampo as some of us call him, is a very sweet, loving, caring, hard-working individual. He comes to Cal Heights after it has rained and cleans both playgrounds so our kids don’t miss out on playing outside. He is also the one who comes to fix any issues in the classrooms for the teachers. He makes sure the outside is a safe environment for everyone.

He shows up early in the morning, works hard, and goes above and beyond for us all. He is a beloved member of the C.H.U.M.C.C. family who makes the staff and students smile on a daily basis. People like Mr. Ocampo are truly rare. He's kind hearted, compassionate, and always has a smile on his face. Seeing that smile taken away by this unfortunate event has been heartbreaking for us.

We are calling on the Cal Heights family to help pool together resources to get Mr. Ocampo back on his feet. Any little bit of help you can provide will make such an impact on his life and will be greatly appreciated by us all.

Aside from financial donations, we are also accepting replacement tools that you may have lying around at home. Please reach out to Miss April if you have any of the following items and we will gladly accept them.
