Helping the beautiful people of Puerto Rico
Don protégé
After Hurricane Maria hit in September of 2017, I wanted to do nothing more than go to Puerto Rico and help the people who were suffering after the storm with no power or water to recover. I was raised in Florida and spent my Summer's in Puerto Rico, which was always like a 2nd home to me.
In February of 2018, after losing my job in Wisconsin what seemed like a curse was a blessing in disguise. I googled volunteering in Puerto Rico, found All hands and hearts a disaster relief organization, applied to volunteer, bought a ticket and left to go help Puerto Rico recover from the destruction Hurricane Maria left in their path. I spent 3 weeks in Yabucoa in February, 1 week in May after that went to St. John to help them recover as well. Next stop Texas to help Hidalgo county recover from the effects of Flash Floods. The need is great. I am back in Puerto Rico for the long haul this time and I have commited to as long as I can to help Puerto Rico recover.
By volunteering with All hands and hearts I am able to accomplish this but need the support of my friends, family and supporters to do so. The funds raised from this campaign go directly to my costs inccured as a volunteer such as food on weekends, phone and personal necessities, Required 3 day break every 30 days spent volunteering as the organization does not cover these personal expenses. If you are able to assist me to stay in Puerto Rico helping the Island get back on its feet, I would greatly appreciate it. Please help me to help the beautiful people of Puerto Rico get back on their feet. Thank you so much!
