Helping support Stephani
Donation protected
Stephani Shanté Robles, a courageous strong young lady who is currently fighting a serious battle in life who cannot endure the pain anymore.
She has struggled with a rare serious case of Systemic Lupus Erythematosis, and End-Stage Renal failure along with current heart failure. The combination of long term 10 years of prednisone steroids and 4 years of dialysis has caused so many immeasurable calcifications throughout her entire body causing serious artery blockage. The long term prednisone has also caused her bones to break spontaneously, which she is now healing from 6 broken ribs and fractured spine disc. She is bed ridden and will never be able to walk again due to lack of blood flow to extremities and extreme atrophy and pain.
Stephani’s quality of life is not what she wants to continue with, so she had notified the team here at Alaska Regional Hospital that she would like to go home to Ketchikan to say her goodbyes to loved ones. This decision to ultimately start hospice care once she arrives in Ketchikan has been difficult since she cannot fly by commercial flight. She plans to continue care here until she gets on the flight home. Medicaid denied referral for airlift home for hospice care in hospital in Ketchikan, although we do have confirmation that she will be accepted at Peace Health. We are currently waiting for some other resources to get her home immediately, for this is her final wish.
Stephani has fought her battle with Lupus since she was 18 and now 32. She will try to maintain hemodialysis as tolerated while sorting out a way to get home to rest in peace. We are currently working on a “back flight” with an airlift medical transport.
The fundraiser will be put towards her needs of comfort foods, items to keep her comfortable as can be, funeral expenses, Celebration of life and any left over money will go to her family. Also in the case that we cannot get a back flight to Ketchikan approved, we will need her immediate family to fly up to Anchorage for her final words, hugs and kisses.
This will not be a “goodbye”. It is “we will see you again” for she is a very spiritual beautiful young woman.
We appreciate any donation you may have to offer at this time.
