Help a Humble Man with Seizures and MS Escape the Streets

The goal of this campaign is to get our friend Rob into a safe sustainable dwelling with the resources necessary to be self-sufficient through remote employment.
Through Rob’s YouTube journey, he’s made a lot of friends. Here’s what a few of us have to say about him.
Well what can I say about Rob, he's the nicest person I've ever had the fortune of knowing on a friendship level. He isn't just a homeless guy on YouTube doing videos, he is Rob the man who has a beautiful sole inside and out.
He is humble, funny, caring and compassionate, he has a lot of humility for others, and won't even ask for help when he's in a deep hole financially because of his medication costs each month being $750 due to his Multiple Sclerosis & Seizures.
He works a part time job & YouTube content creation all whilst living in the woods in minus 40 degrees Celsius/Fahrenheit, surviving.
I remember when Rob was living in Toronto before he moved further North and he gave away his backup tent to a newly homeless couple who needed it without even thinking of himself, that's Rob in a nutshell. Selfless. -Tyrone
Rob is an amazing guy. If dealt the same hand as him, most people would not do as well as he has, or stay as positive and kind as he as; I know I wouldn’t. His relentless positivity drew me in, and I’ve been extremely grateful to be a part of the Discord community that he’s fostered. I’ve gotten to really see what an awesome person he is, and I’ve never met someone that I believed deserved this kind of help more than him. Several people had to fight Rob for months trying to convince him to let us make him this GFM campaign. His current situation is an injustice, and we have the opportunity to make it somewhat right. -Jeremiah
Rob isn’t ur normal person. He is a genuine, honest, hard-working, good friend, real type of person. I have known Rob for about 4 months he's never asked for anything. I have seen him tell people don't worry about send Him money because he's got everything covered for the month. I've seen him send people money that needed help. It took three of us closest friends to convince him to let us make this for him. He works hard every day to better his life, despite all the medical stuff he goes through. He's always a positive person. He’s there whenever you need him he'll help you in any way possible. So let's help him get his feet back under him. So he can return the favor in the future to all the other people he will help. -Jacob
Rob is a very funny, very friendly man, who unfortunately fell on hard times. He suffers from MS (multiple sclerosis) which I can relate to. I can't Imagine the struggles he faces, when I myself can't walk the block without falling. Rob is so strong mentally and physically. He doesn't choose to do drugs and wither away he chooses to work as hard as his body can to hopefully get over this obstacle. You can ask Rob " How do you stay positive in the position he is in" he aways replies along the lines of "I'm naturally a happy person , I do get down but always back up!" I really do hope to see Rob get out of this and become comfortable in life again. He was even too humble to start a GoFundMe thankfully he was convinced. He's too sincere of a man to not get a happy ending too. -Hannah
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What will the money pay for?
A: The money will be used to purchase a land lease, a trailer to live in, a solar power system, and living essentials. Every penny will go directly to Rob in order to buy these things, and receipts will be provided to donors.
Q: Once housed, how will Rob sustain himself long term?
A: Using Starlink internet and a computer, Rob will work remotely. He is willing to do anything, from a call center to tech support, and will surely do well and move up quickly in whatever he does. In addition, Rob plans to grow/transition his YouTube homelessness channel into a homesteading channel as he builds his new life.
Q: What is MS?
A: (From mayoclinic.org) Multiple sclerosis is a disease that causes breakdown of the protective covering of nerves. Multiple sclerosis can cause numbness, weakness, trouble walking, vision changes and other symptoms. It's also known as MS.
Q: Does Rob have family that he could be living with?
A: Sadly, no. Anyone that he could have been living with has passed away.
Q: Doesn’t Canada have free healthcare? Why is he paying so much for medication every month?
A: Yes, Canada does have free healthcare, but not all medications are covered. As convoluted as it is, the medications that control Robs seizures, and allow him to walk, are not considered “life necessary”, and so are not covered.
Q: Could Rob live in a Van?
A: Because of his seizure disorder, Rob cannot hold a drivers license, so a van is not an option.
Q: Has Rob looked for employment beyond his current part time job?
A: Yes, but in Canada, homeless people have “NFA” on their ID card. This means No Fixed Address, and is enough to get you turned away from nearly all employers. His current employer is an amazing person that has been empathetic and generous since hiring him.
We’d love to see you on Robs Discord, where we hang out, play games, and help keep each other sane. Here are a couple more ways of following along with Robs journey:
For those donors with a good sense of humor, a friend of Robs is in the process of covering his arm in blackout tattoo. The upper arm is still bare skin. You can have your name or message tattooed there before it gets blacked out. If this is your cup of tea, come to Robs Discord and ask for Platypus!
