Helping raise money for British Heart Foundation

On Sunday 13 October 2024, I will be running my first Half Marathon in Bournemouth to help raise money for the British Heart Foundation. For anyone who doesn’t knows me, I hardly do any exercise and have never ran half of this length before. This was be my biggest challenge yet.

On 23 December 2023, my mum was diagnosed Coronary Artery Disease within the LAD Artery. This Artery is the largest artery within the heart and she is now on the waiting list for a heart bypass at Wolverhampton New Cross Hospital.

As you can imagine, this came to a shock to all of our family, she is only 58 and doesn’t smoke, drink much alcohol and isn’t overweight. It isn’t easy seeing your mum deteriorate week by week and not do any of the day to day tasks we all take for granted. I don’t think my mum will ever forget the moment she was told about this diagnosis and the doctors saying she was very lucky to be alive as most people do not get any warning signs.

Thank you for reading, every donation will be greatly appreciated no matter how big or small, I hope you can all join me on my journey to raise money for this heartfelt cause. Thank you xx
