Helping Pauline Clark, who sadly now has brain damage.
Donation protected
Hello - thank you for visiting. I’m Kate, and I’m younger sister to Pauline Clark, for whom I’m raising funds to help pay for care. Pauline has dementia and brain damage following a fall. She is currently spending 30 days in a convalescent home in Portugal, following a lengthy stay in hospital. She has lived (alone) in Portugal for over 10 years. As her only close relative, I am unable to obtain power of attorney due to her mental capacity, so will have to go through a lengthy court process. But she is in dire need of care over the next few months as I try to sort out her affairs. Her friends there are all elderly and unable to visit her so she is currently alone and very distressed and disorientated.
Funds are needed to pay for her temporary care when she is moved from the convalescent home to another unit, until I can access her bank account.
Some of you will remember Pauline from her many years working in the music industry, starting at Island Records when it was based in Neasden, then Basing Street before moving to St. Peter’s Square in Hammersmith. She then spent a number of years at Chrysalis followed by periods with George Michael and the Rolling Stones offices. She introduced me to a lifetime of music in 1971 by taking me to my first gig at The Lyceum to see Lindisfarne supported by Genesis. I was 14 and she made me iron my unruly hair and lent me her purple maxi coat!.. I then spent many school and subsequently college holidays working at Island in Hammersmith, where I had one of my greatest ‘claims to fame’… making tea for Bob Marley!
Well known for her laughter, Pauline worked hard and played hard and loved her time in the industry.
Friends old and new will remember Pauline for her kindness and fun loving spirit, not to mention the naughty sense of humour and the laugh!
In later years, she found herself alone and unable to find work to keep up mortgage payments, so she sold up and moved to Portugal. After some tough times she found some happiness in the sun over the past few years. It would be wonderful if we could help her in her time of need and distress.
PLEASE NOTE! If you are donating, select the (tiny) option at the top of the donation page that says ‘select custom tip’ and make it 0 £ - otherwise the donation automatically adds a £3.50 ‘tip’ which goes to Gofundme.
