In 2010, my daughter Harmony was born with congenital heart disease.
From that moment on, the hospital became our second home — and sometimes, our only one.
As a single parent, I lived out of a hospital room. I slept in a chair, survived on vending machine meals, and spent every ounce of energy being strong for my child. Behind that strength were constant worries no parent should have to carry alone: gas money to get back and forth, a safe place to sleep, food, and the emotional toll of never getting a break.
No one asks the parent how they’re surviving — but parents are holding everything together.
That experience changed me forever, and it’s why I’m creating Harmony’s Heart Foundation.
Our Mission
Harmony’s Heart Foundation exists to support parents — especially single parents — who are living in hospitals while their children receive long-term or critical care.
We provide help with:
• Gas cards for hospital travel
• Hotel accommodations for rest and safety
• ️ Meals and basic necessities
• Self-care support for parents carrying emotional and physical exhaustion
Because when parents are supported, they can show up stronger for their children.
How Funds Will Be Used
Funds raised through this GoFundMe will go toward:
• Launching the foundation legally and operationally
• Direct assistance for families (gas cards, hotel stays, meals)
• Emergency parent support grants
• Care packages and self-care resources for hospital parents
Every dollar raised is a step toward easing the burden for a family in crisis.
Why This Matters
There are so many parents sitting in hospital rooms right now — exhausted, scared, and alone — trying to choose between gas, food, or rest.
I was one of them.
Harmony’s Heart Foundation is built from lived experience, love, and the belief that no parent should have to survive this journey alone.
