Our mom, Edelle Grung (71), is facing the hardest battle of her life. She has Stage 4 uterine cancer, which has now spread to her liver and kidneys. Her health is declining so quickly that keeping up — physically, emotionally, and financially — has become overwhelming.

Every day, she wakes in pain. Her body is swollen, she is exhausted, and even simple tasks like walking or eating are a struggle. Watching her suffer has been one of the most heartbreaking experiences of our lives.

We are asking for help not because we want to, but because we don’t know what else to do. We just want to make whatever time she has left peaceful, dignified, and free from unnecessary suffering.

Our mom has always been the heart of our family — the one who never asked for anything, the one who gave everything. She raised her children and grandchildren with strength, humour, and endless love. She has survived hardships most people never hear about, and even now, in pain, she still tries to shield us from worrying.

Neo, her 16-year-old grandson, is caring for her every day in Durban. Comforting her through frightening pain episodes, taking her to countless hospital appointments, and doing everything he can to keep her spirits up. Family that are near, are helping where they can- which help with some responsibility's.

Our family is spread across different countries, doing all we can from afar — but it’s simply not enough anymore. That’s why we are humbly asking for support from friends, family, and anyone who can help, in any way possible, to ease this burden and provide care and comfort for our mom during this incredibly difficult time.
