I am writing this on behalf of my mom — the strongest, most selfless woman I know.
My mom has spent her entire life putting everyone else before herself. She has survived things no one should ever have to endure, including domestic violence and the impossible strength it took to escape and rebuild. Through every hardship, she never let it define her. Instead, she turned her pain into love and made sure her three daughters always came first.
No matter how little she had or how exhausted she was, my mom made sure we never went without. Our activities, our dreams, our goals — she found a way to make them happen, even when it meant sacrificing her own wants and needs. She has always been the safe place, the provider, the protector, and the heart of our family.
But her care didn’t stop with just us.
My mom has stepped in time and time again to help raise and care for all the kids in our family — siblings, cousins, nephews — anyone who needed stability, love, or guidance. She has always been the one who showed up, who took on more, and who carried the weight so others didn’t have to.
For the past 10 years, she worked tirelessly — often 80 hours a week — giving everything she had to her job. She gave her full self until there was nothing left to give. The stress and burnout were overwhelming, but she pushed through because that’s what she’s always done for us. Eventually, she realized something had to change.
With incredible courage, my mom made the decision to step away and finally choose a better life — not just for us, but for herself.
She is now pursuing a lifelong dream of becoming a phlebotomist — something she has wanted to do since she was a child. This career will allow her to have meaningful work without carrying the stress home, giving her the chance to be present, healthy, and at peace while still providing for our family. She deserves a career that supports her life instead of consuming it.
Recently, my mom once again showed the depth of her heart. When my best friend unexpectedly lost her mother, my mom didn’t hesitate for a second. She opened our home to her and her dog, instantly giving up her bedroom and making space, offering comfort, and becoming the steady support she needed during the hardest moment of her life. That’s who my mom is — she steps in when others fall, without question.
As she works toward her phlebotomy certification, my mom must pay for the program in full while also supporting a growing household. This transition is hopeful and exciting, but it also brings financial strain.
My mom has spent her life showing up for everyone else. Now, I’m asking for help so she can finally have the support she’s always given so freely.
Any donation, no matter how small, will help lift the burden and allow my mom to focus on completing her certification and building the balanced, peaceful future she has worked so hard to earn. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser means just as much.
Thank you for supporting my mom — a woman who has given everything to everyone around her. Your kindness helps her finally invest in herself and the life she deserves.
Much Love,
Allegra
