Helping those in need who attend LAHS

This funding campaign is for families of students who attend Los Altos High School. This is a public high school that serves both the Los Altos and Mountain View areas. One of the treasures of this school is it's diversity as the student body represents many different communities both in terms of ethnic and socio-economic status. The funds raised here will go directly to our community - to students and families who need economic support during the COVID emergency. We all know how difficult it is to work and survive in Silicon Valley. Many families who make a decent wage still have to live paycheck to paycheck and now are finding themselves unemployed and in desperate need of the basics. My husband is part of the amazing staff at LAHS and they have been spending countless hours checking in on families. It has become clear that many LAHS families are facing food insecurity and an inability to pay rent. Families most in need will be identified through objective metrics, such as housing insecurity, and funds dispersed (in the form of gift cards for essential needs) with the help of LAHS stakeholders.
