Olá a todos, estou a criar este movimento de crowdfunding para reunir algum apoio financeiro para a família da Matilde.

A Matilde é uma menina de 11 anos que sofreu uma paragem cardiorrespiratória enquanto brincava no recreio da escola, a 26 de novembro de 2024.

A Matilde era uma criança perfeitamente saudável; no entanto, foi posteriormente descoberto que ela tem a síndrome ALCAPA. Esta síndrome afeta 0,2% da população mundial, com uma taxa de mortalidade de 90% antes do primeiro ano de vida.

A Matilde esteve hospitalizada de 26 de novembro de 2024 a 2 de junho de 2025, no Hospital de São João, no Porto, Portugal.

A partir desse dia, manteve-se hospitalizada até 27 de outubro no Centro de Reabilitação do Norte (CRN), em Gaia, Portugal.

Durante a sua hospitalização, foi submetida a vários procedimentos cirúrgicos (traqueostomia, gastrostomia, úlceras de pressão), teve pneumonia e várias infeções.

Atualmente, continua a lutar para recuperar as funções que perdeu e, para isso, necessita de terapias (terapia ocupacional, terapia da fala e fisioterapia) pois ela encontra-se em estado de consciência mínima com tetraplegia espástica.

Estas terapias, que agora são suportadas totalmente pela família, são muito dispendiosas e esta é a principal razão para a criação desta campanha de crowdfunding.

Toda a ajuda é bem-vinda, para minimizar o peso financeiro numa família que foi afetada por um episódio tão terrível.

Hello everyone, I´m creating this crowdfunding movement to gather some financial help for Matilde´s family.

Matilde is a little 11 year old girl who suffered a cardiopulmonary arrest while playing in the school playground, on the 26th November 2024.

Matilde was a perfectly healthy child; however, it was later discovered that she has ALCAPA syndrome. This syndrome affects 0.2% of the world's population, with a mortality rate of 90% before the first year of life.

Matilde was hospitalized from November 26, 2024, to June 2, 2025, at São João Hospital, in Porto, Portugal.

From that day, she remained hospitalized until October 27 at the Northern Rehabilitation Center (CRN), in Gaia, Portugal

During her hospitalization, she underwent several surgical procedures (tracheostomy, gastrostomy, pressure ulcers), had pneumonia and several infections.

At present time, she continues to fight to recover the functions she has lost, and for this, she needs therapies (occupational therapy, speech therapy, and physiotherapy) as she is in a minimally conscious state with spastic tetraplegia.

These therapies, that are now supported by the family, are highly expensive and this is the main reason for creating this crowdfund.

All help his welcomed, to minimize the the financial burden on a family that was struck by such a terrible episode.
