This fundraiser is for Jewish families in South Florida, and also families across America who are quietly struggling to meet basic needs for their children. These are good families doing their best — parents who work hard, care deeply, and rarely ask for help. Many are facing financial pressure, displacement, or sudden hardship, and are forced to go without essentials such as toys, Jewish books, holiday items, and basic supplies that help a home feel stable and dignified. Our goal is to support 1,000 Jewish families in the year 5785 (תשפ״ה) by providing practical assistance, meaningful Jewish resources, and support that restores dignity, stability, and connection — especially for children. This effort is organized through Yisrael Ohev, in partnership with our Jewish learning and connection platform Living-Torah.app, where values are meant to be lived, not just studied.

Through our work with Jewish families and through Living-Torah.app, we see what many people never see — families who are struggling quietly. Not families asking for handouts. Not families looking for attention. Just families going without. We see parents trying to shield their children from stress. We see homes where holidays feel heavy instead of joyful. We see people who are strong, kind, and responsible — but stretched thin. Judaism teaches Kol Yisrael Arevim Zeh LaZeh — all of Israel is responsible for one another. That idea isn’t theoretical. It’s meant to become action. This fundraiser began as a response to that responsibility. In the Jewish year 5785, we felt it was time to turn meaning into support, Torah into connection, and compassion into something tangible. This is not about charity alone. It’s about showing up — quietly, respectfully, and with care — for families who deserve to feel seen and supported.

Funds raised through this campaign will be used directly and responsibly to support underprivileged Jewish families with practical, real-world needs. The focus is on providing assistance that immediately reduces stress in the home and supports children and families with dignity. Support includes purchasing and distributing essential household items, children’s toys and educational materials, Jewish books and learning resources, and holiday-related items that allow families to participate in Jewish life without financial strain. Special care is taken around holidays such as Hanukah, when financial pressure can feel especially heavy for families with children. All assistance is delivered discreetly through trusted local volunteers and community networks in South Florida, as well as partner networks serving families in other areas. Families are supported respectfully, without publicity or pressure, and with attention to privacy and individual circumstances. By meeting basic needs and easing immediate financial pressure, families experience greater stability, calm, and a sense of normalcy in the home. Children are able to feel included, supported, and proud of their Jewish identity rather than left out or burdened by stress. In addition to physical support, families are connected to Living-Torah.app, a platform that offers ongoing access to Jewish learning, meaning, and connection. This ensures support does not end with a single delivery, but continues through education, values, and community. Together, these efforts help families feel seen, supported, and connected, turning compassion into meaningful, lasting stability.

We didn’t start this fundraiser from a place of comfort. We started it from a place of understanding. Like many people, we’ve experienced seasons where doing your best still isn’t enough — where you’re working, caring for others, and quietly carrying worries you don’t talk about. We know what it feels like to hold things together on the outside while struggling on the inside. We’ve seen families stretching what little they have, parents putting their children first at their own expense, and homes where holidays feel heavy instead of joyful. These are good people doing their best — and still falling behind. This week, our hearts are also with the Jewish community in Australia following the recent tragedy that has deeply affected families there. As part of this mission, we are committed to offering emotional support and, where possible, financial assistance to families impacted, standing with them in care and solidarity.
