Hong Kong isn’t just somewhere I visit, it’s part of who I am. My family is from Hong Kong, and it has always felt like my second home. So watching the recent tragedy unfold… it has shaken me in a way that’s hard to even put into words.

Seeing families lose the people they love so suddenly, so unfairly has been heartbreaking. I keep imagining what they must be feeling, how life can change in a moment, and it’s been sitting on my chest for days. It hurts to know that people who remind me of my own family are going through something so devastating.

. I know I can’t fix what happened, but I also know I can’t do nothing. These families deserve support, compassion, and to feel like the world hasn’t forgotten them.

That’s why I’m starting this fundraiser —

not because it will erase the pain, but because I hope it can ease even a tiny part of their burden, and remind them they’re not alone. Hong Kong has given me so much love throughout my life. This is my way of giving some love back to the families who need it the most right now.

Why I Created This Fundraiser -

Hong Kong is a second home for me. It is where my family comes from, where I spent large parts of my childhood, and a place that shaped who I am. Seeing the recent tragedy and families lose loved ones so suddenly has been heartbreaking. I wanted to help in a meaningful and transparent way, which is why this fundraiser was created.

Who I’m Raising Money For -

The funds will support families in Hong Kong who have lost a loved one as a direct result of the recent tragedy. These are families who are experiencing both emotional and financial strain from funerals, counselling needs, and unexpected living expenses.

How the Funds Will Be Delivered -

I am currently in direct communication with Hong Kong–based community support networks and organisations who are already assisting affected families. All money raised will be transferred either:

• directly to selected grieving families, or

• through verified Hong Kong charities supporting bereaved households

I will provide proof of transfers, invoices, and receipts whenever possible.

My Relationship to the Cause

As someone with strong personal roots in Hong Kong, I feel a responsibility to support the community that has always felt like home. While not personally related to the individual families, my connection to the city, and to its people, is deep and genuine. This fundraiser is simply a way to give back to my own community in their time of need.

Beneficiary Details

At this time, no external beneficiary has been added because I am still finalising which families and organisations will receive assistance. Once confirmed, I will update the page with their names and the formal transfer mechanism.

If GoFundMe requires a direct listed beneficiary, I will update once the first family or organisation is confirmed.

Commitment to Transparency

I will share updates on allocation of funds, and where possible, documentation showing the donations being used for:

• funeral costs

• grief counselling

• financial support for dependents

• community relief services

All donations will go strictly toward helping those directly impacted.
