Something happens to you when you become homeless. You change as a person. Your stability, security, and dignity is gone or at best, tested, and at risk of disappearing altogether.

Daily survival, stress, and anxiety become the order of the day. Where to sleep, park, shower or find internet for your kids or work; these simple things become very complicated.

As if that is not enough, things like deodorant, lotion and soap actually become an issue to get. Not to mention food and clothing... If you have children it is so much worse.

While reports about homelessness have shown that the situation was better in 2019, that same study pointed out that there has been a 20% increase in "unsheltered adults" the same year. And with Covid, we've definitely seen a rise in poverty. I'm sure those numbers are much different now.

Unsheltered adults are basically people who are not in the system. They live in cars, tents, abandoned buildings, on the streets, in the woods, and other places where they remain officially uncounted.

From personal experiences I can assure you it is not only adults either. Out in the woods of West and North Jacksonville, the State Parks, National Forests, Public lands; are whole families.

Parents who try to save their pride in the face of their children by telling them they are not homeless, but on an adventure or endless camping trip... Parents who are also terrified of losing those same children to the state due to their circumstances.

I see these things and realize that alone, there is not much I can do. But, what I do know, and what I can do, is find and provide the goods and supplies that people use and need while they are out there on those streets.

By myself, and with your help.

And people are calling for help, but I don't have enough funds alone to help them all. Or even as many as I would like. Which would be all of them...

With funds raised from multiple fundraisers, I would like to ask the community and those who can, for help. Help with this idea to provide individuals, families, young adults, whoever may be in dire need of help, with immediate stuff they need.

Free tents, phones and food right away. Not free tents, phones and food that they have had to wade through bureaucracy and red tape to get to. They call, they get what is available and what can be delivered. No judgements needed... I will literally take it to them.

But I definitely cannot do it alone, at least not on the scale I would like, and your donation to this life-long endeavor, whatever amount it may be, will absolutely help make a direct impact on those in need throughout Florida, and wherever else people may call or message from.

Donors who give $10 or more, will receive a handmade, beaded hemp bracelet with a signature house charm, and will be updated personally of actions and events, if they choose to provide their mailing and email information.

Ghandi said that "a nation's greatness is measured by how it treats it's weakest members"... We are a great nation but is it the same great nation for everyone?  Those of us who have been blessed with an extra dollar, extra can of ravioli, extra cigarette, extra whatever, as an integral part of this great nation, should try to help those in need retain their humanity, their dignity, and their strength.

This small goal of $2000.00 is enough to provide individuals on the street, help with their immediate needs. People & Families who have just become homeless. Hotel Rooms, Hourly Daycare, Campsites, Tents, Supplies, Food, Gas, Phones... The small things people need to give them time to breathe, get adjusted, and formulate a plan. Hopefully, be able to get back on their feet.

The money will stay in a specific account, that all funds for items purchased will come from. $2000 is a good level to try and keep it at, of course the more it grows, the more people can be helped!

So what can $2000.00 do? Just check it out....

533 - Gallons of Gas @ $3.75/gal.
181 - Hours of Daycare at a Drop in Facility @ $11.00/hr.
50 - Daycare Registration Fees @ $40.00 ea.
31 - Average Sized Tents
54 - Self-Inflating Sleeping Pads
49 - Hassock Toilets
44 - Food & Supply Kits
20 - Nights in a Hotel Room @ $100.00/night.
66 - Nights at a Campground @ $30.00/night.
25 - Prepaid Smart Phones w/ $50.00 in minutes.
3 - Family Shelter Kits @ $555.00/ea.
6 - Single Shelter Kits @ $320.00/ea.

There is so much more... Think about it. What if one of each of these things could go to someone? That is 2000 people who have been helped, if not just a little bit.

Another example could be if one person received 10 gallons of gas, 2 nights at a hotel room, 6 hours of daycare, and a Food & Supply Kit. That equals approximately $347.50.  $2000.00 Can provide those things for 5 maybe 6 people, and that is a two day window were someone may go to a job interview. Meet with people about their situation, etc.

Please people. Having a heart goes a long way. There are people out there who need our help...

This photo is simply an example of what can be provided to people who are in immediate need. This is a premade shelter kit for singles or couples having to live out of their vehicle. I searched and searched and Walmart really does have the best prices on this stuff. Dollar stores for Supply Kit and Food Items.
