Helping Hands for Dayton
Donation protected
Those of you who have known Abriella long enough probably know about her heart for homeless people and those who hold cardboard signs, asking for help, since she was a toddler. We’ve never been able to pass someone holding a cardboard sign – when she was little, she would cry out from the back seat, insisting I turn around and would just yell, “Do something!” Walking through the streets of New York City was particularly hard for her – she was eight years old and had tears running down her cheeks because we couldn’t give to everyone we passed.
As she got older, she began pulling out her own money, giving it to people from the rolled down window in the backseat as she told them, “I hope this makes your day better.” And if she had no cash on her, she would ask me to run to the nearest fast food restaurant to buy a meal for them. I have always said that is she doesn’t go into show business, she will likely grow up to be a social worker.
Now she has been working on something bigger all summer, and is ready to ask others to join in. She calls it “Helping Hands.”
Her goal is to put together about 100 “Helping Hands” bags to pass out to the homeless people of Dayton, in early October. She is hoping her family and friends will donate items to include in these bags, because her piggy bank doesn’t have enough to cover that many bags on her own. If you don’t have time to go out and purchase items, she also asked me to set up a Go Fund Me, for anyone who wants to donate. And here we are. So, if you want to help this very determined child out, but can't find the time in your busy schedule to go out and purchase the items on the "Helping Hands" list, please consider donating here, and I will take Abriella out to purchase the items she wants to hand out.
For those who would rather donate items directly from her Amazon list, here is the link -
