A tragic work accident has left Gene with severe injuries. A fractured skull, spine, shoulder, six ribs, and a serious brain injury known as a Diffuse Axonal Injury (DAI). He remains in the ICU, fighting with incredible strength. His wife is by his side full time, on unpaid leave, while he begins the long road to healing in the hospital and rehab.
