Helping Danny recover fallen soldiers in Ukraine

My boyfriend, best friend, and my hero… Danny, awhile back asked me if I would support him if he were to go volunteer helping others in need. Like you would for anyone that you love, I said of course I would. Danny’s heart has been tearing at him since watching the invasion of Ukraine on the news and the terrible acts that have happened to the innocent civilians who never asked for a war to come into their country and destroy their homes and kill their loved ones. Danny has recently took time to understand his calling of giving to something bigger than himself and has decided that his next chapter in life includes Volunteering to join a military team in Ukraine. He has found other volunteers who are on the same path as himself and he will be leaving in the beginning of October to meet and join the teams over in Ukraine operating in a CAFS, Casualty and Fallen Soldier team aiding in the help of recovering injured and soldiers KIA. This work is often over looked, highly under paid and under funded but is extremely needed in helping to save lives and returning those whom lost their lives, trying to defend their land and freedom for their families. So they may be returned back to their families for closure, as many soldiers and aid workers get left behind so more casualties and wounded don’t occur. These teams are highly self funded, mainly by the individuals in terms of clothing, equipment and travel.

This work can be very dangerous, avoiding enemy contact and land mines and often requires going directly to the enemy forefronts as part of the mission, Danny fully understands this, but sees this as a privilege to do something bigger than himself.

Danny has spent most of his own money and has posted up for sale and sold off much of his personal possessions, including putting his truck up for a quick sale, which was a dream for him to buy, to relieve as much funding as possible knowing every amount will help provide further efforts not only for him, his team but the families in Ukraine that he will be helping to receive their loved ones back. Danny also owned and ran a successful auto detailing business for the last 8 years, full time, which he has chosen to close down days before he leaves. I know this has been very emotional and weighing heavy on him to see his business come to a closure for now. His travels, accommodations and much of his food will all be out of his own pocket the entire time he will be in Ukraine because the government in Ukraine isn’t in as much of a financial positive as our country is. Due to this, the military pay is extremely low as they are a country at war trying to defend themselves for peace and have a stretched budget only able to supply their soldiers with the very basics. The majority of the soldier’s and volunteers purchase their own supplies and equipment. Danny’s selfless heart has been yurning to help, especially in this field, coming from a military background and the mentality of leave no soldier behind and what it means to help save lives and return those who died fighting for their family’s freedom to have a chance to have proper closure. And for this I am asking anyone who can help Danny, if you can to give any amount, knowing that it will be towards one of the greatest causes of our lifetime. The funding will be used to buy needed essentials not only for Danny but for the team he will be working on that are in need, to include; a protective helmet, cold weather clothing, including socks and gloves, good boots, MEDICAL supplies in the form of chest seals, sealed gauze, quick clot, decompression needles, tourniquets and other bandages. Also the teams are in great need of Night Vision devices allowing them to travel and move at night under low to no light conditions. I would like to also make it known that no weapons will be bought with this funding, as that is not the purpose of asking for these donations.

Here in the US military the very basics a soldier receives, are multiple of tens of thousands of dollars in equipment and clothing. While Danny has been sourcing used, cheaper priced equipment and supplies in bulk to allow for more quantity, especially for items that are in high demand but scarce in availability in Ukraine.

Thank you for helping to prepare and fund Danny for leaving in October, with the things he needs, as anything helps in the mission for not only Danny to stay safe and make it back home but also for helping the country and citizens of Ukraine. Not everyone is in the position or has the ability to give up their life here to help others in a war torn country like Danny is, but prayers, sharing this and any donation possible is a huge help!

Thank you with much love and so much appreciation, Logan and Danny.

If you are unable to financially donate, we ask that you would share this but most of all, pray for Danny and for the success of his mission to help, peace for the country of Ukraine, and his safety in his time away and return.
