Last night on New Year’s Eve, my dad experienced a devastating house fire that destroyed both his home and garage. In a matter of hours, he lost nearly everything he owns—everything except the clothes he was wearing and the car he was driving.

My dad has worked incredibly hard his entire life. He built a home he was deeply proud of, a place that represented years of effort, sacrifice, and love. That home wasn’t just a building—it was his sense of security, comfort, and accomplishment.

He is safe, and we are grateful for that beyond words. He does have insurance, but we are already learning that the damage and total loss will likely far exceed what his coverage will provide. Rebuilding a life from the ground up—basic necessities, temporary housing, tools, household items, and the countless things you don’t think about until they’re gone—adds up very quickly.

My dad is well loved in this community, and many people have already asked how they can help. This GoFundMe is a way to support him as he begins the long and overwhelming process of recovery.
